Baja town is situated about 160 km on the south of Budapest, on the left bank of Danube river and on the bank of its backwater Sugovica, this is a charming town near the forest "Gemenc" of the catchment area,
with protected flora and fauna. One of the major sights of Baja is the Holy Trinity Square made in Mediterranean style with town hall and buildings of the historic downtown decorated in neo-Renaissance style.
The proximity to the riverside offers excellent bathing, fishing and recreational opportunities. The river-harbour for passenger-boats and yachts waits for guests arriving by river transport. On the Petőfi Island
there are restaurants, tennis courts and a swimming pool for competitions. You can make a pleasant excursion in the national park by pleasure-boat, by forest small train, by bike or by boat as well.
